This is a follow-up to the new web user interface rolled out back in April....

At least in the current beta seed, the iOS 10 lock screen has a bit of a loophole due to the new expanded notification system that developers and public beta users should be aware of. In short: anyone can view and reply to iMessages or text messages from the lock screen without entering the device passcode or authenticating with Touch ID. This security issue persists even while the ‘Reply With Message’ setting is disabled and applies to other apps like Twitter as well....

The Punisher star Jon Bernthal says he and Spider-Man: Homecoming star Tom Holland helped with each other’s audition tapes to land roles in their respective Marvel TV and movie projects. Holland and Bernthal, of course, are two of the newest kids on the Marvel block: Holland made his debut as the MCU Peter Parker/Spider-Man in Captain America: Civil War, with Spider-Man: Homecoming and the Avengers: Infinity War films still to come....

Bloomberg reports that Qualcomm shares have dropped after the company’s CEO hinted that its biggest customer could switch to a rival supplier for future orders. Reading between the lines, the speculation is that its biggest customer is Apple (Samsung is the only other company close to holding that title) and that a switch to Qualcomm’s rival means Apple’s is considering Intel for LTE modem chips in the iPhone 7: The reports come as Intel this week announced it’s laying off around 12,000 employees as it restructures to, according to the company, evolve “from a PC company to a company that powers the cloud and billions of smart, connected computing devices....

Qualcomm today sent out press release which contains quotes from OEMs like Motorola, LG and Xiaomi praising the company’s upcoming Snapdragon 810 chipset. With the Snapdragon 810 reportedly having overheating issues and Samsung dropping the chipset from its Galaxy S6, Qualcomm has presumably sent out this press release to confirm the industry’s confidence on its upcoming chipset. The press release states that more than 60 high-end Android devices are in the pipeline that will be based on the Snapdragon 810 that will be unveiled in the coming weeks and months....

The Chinese technology media site Commercial Times is claiming that Quanta will begin initial production runs of Apple Watch 2 in January, later in the month. This would match current expectations that the next-generation Apple Watch 2 will be launched about a year after the first Apple Watch, around April. A 4-inch ‘iPhone 6c’ is also on the cards for a March/April debut. Parts and components leaks for Apple Watch 2 have yet to appear in the wild, although there are also rumors that the second-generation Watch will feature a thinner overall design....

The Aspen-M, available in a private beta, is the culmination of Rigetti’s particular take on large-scale quantum computers. The firm is pursuing multi-chip quantum processors and announced plans earlier this year to offer it to customers through its Quantum Cloud Services platform. The first Rambo movie titled First Blood was released in 1982, starring Sylvester Stallone as a Vietnam War veteran being hunted down by a corrupt sheriff and his deputies. Cash-strapped display maker Proview that sued Apple over the iPad moniker in China feels it has the Cupertino, Calif.-headquartered gadget giant right where it wants them, cornered against the wall. Just as the Intermediate People’s Court in Huizhou ruled last Friday that local distributors should stop selling iPads in China, Proview now told The Times of India it us ready to sit at the negotiating table, apparently telling Apple it has “peaceful intentions....

The intention is to deliver and ease the process of adding dual-cameras on products through a universal technology. Clear Sight is developed based on the way humans’ visualize surroundings – using cones and rods. While the former is detecting colors and details, latter is absorbing light particles. The approach is fundamentally identical to what Huawei has done with the P9, you can read more about it here. Clear Sight will, as a result, utilize two separate camera sensors with same focal length and aperture for mimicking the purpose of cones and rods....

While we’re seeing AMD dominate Intel lately, several Radeon RX 5700 XT user reports are now surfacing detailing regular crashes and a black screen issue. The issue seems to be appearing at random without any specific trigger. Of course, bugs and glitches aren’t specific to the Radeon RX 5700 XT and can happen with all graphic cards out there. However, the case of the Radeon RX 57000 XT graphic card black screen is occurring on a larger scale....
