Apple’s iPhone 11 event is quite literally a week away, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t time for a few last-minute leaks. A Geekbench test result has surfaced that purports to show CPU statistics for the iPhone 11. More specifically, this is supposedly a benchmark for the “iPhone 12.1,” which is the successor to the iPhone XR. The Geekbench score reports 5415 for single-core and 11294 for multi-core. If real, this would mean the new iPhone lineup is about 12% faster for single-core tasks, but the multi-core result is essentially unchanged compared to what the current iPhone XR scores....
Chinese analyst Jiutang Pan has revealed key specifications of Qualcomm’s next-generation chipset — the Snapdragon 820. With Qualcomm’s high end chip for 2015 — the Snapdragon 810 — being plagued with overheating issues, expectations are sky high from the company to bounce back with its next-generation Snapdragon chipset that will feature its own custom cores. The chip maker has not revealed any details about the Snapdragon 820, but thanks to some leak slides from Chinese analyst Jiutang Pan, key specifications of the chipset have now been revealed....
Foxconn has announced plans to quarantine iPhone workers when they return to work on February 10, in an effort to limit the spread of the coronavirus. The company’s biggest factory is in Zhengzhou, in the Henan province, some 300 miles from Wuhan, where the outbreak began… Bloomberg reports. It has been demonstrated that it can take up to 14 days for coronavirus symptoms to manifest and that those infected can be contagious before they are showing any signs of illness....

Apple today introduced the second beta release of iOS 15 and iPadOS 15, which is the first update since the betas were made available to developers at WWDC 2021 earlier this month. For some unknown reason, iPadOS 15 beta 2 is not available for some models of the 9.7-inch iPad Pro. The vulnerability is device-independent, meaning it could be used to gain control of anything from an iPhone to a Mac.
